Funeral services for Bonnie Jean Butts Scarbrough will be held Wednesday at 10 am in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home of Union. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church cemetery. Bro. James McMillan will be officiating.
Mrs. Scarbrough, 74, formally of Collinsville, passed away at her residence in Highlands, TX.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who made her family the love of her life. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very outspoken, she always told you what she thought and was very sociable with her family and friends. She was a very neat and orderly lady, everything had to be in its place.
Mrs. Scarbrough is survived by her children Alvin L. “Lee” Smith (Kim), Tina Smith, Connie Tolbert; grandchildren Ayla Wright, Shelby Tolbert, Brittney Smith; great-grandchildren McKenna Wright and Eli Welde. She is also survived by brothers Howard Butts, Thomas Butts and Joe Butts along with her sister Sue Hall and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Scarbrough was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Nellie Butts; husband Elbert Scarbrough; sisters Mavis Alexander, Maxine Griffith and brother Donald Butts.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6pm to 8pm and one hour prior to the service.
